Mayor & Councillors
The Coolamon Shire Council is comprised of nine Councillors. Councillors are publicly elected to represent the interests of Coolamon Shire residents and are available to discuss any needs or concerns residents may have regarding the Shire and its services.
Council elections are held every four years and Mayoral elections are held every second year, where the Councillors elect a Mayor and Deputy Mayor for a two year term.

Elections
Council Elections are held every four years.
Donations and Expenditure Declarations
Council is required to keep a public register of all current donations and expenditure declarations lodged by Councillors with the NSW Electoral Commission. You can source declarations on the NSW Electoral Commission website here.
Elections for Coolamon Shire Councillors
Coolamon Shire Council is governed by 9 Councillors who are elected to represent the shire (there are no wards or divisions).
The election process is managed by the NSW Electoral Commission.
Our Councillors are usually elected for a 4-year term of office, with the next NSW Local Government election due to be held on the 14 September 2024.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected by the Councillors in a process managed by the elected Council. The Mayor is elected at the first meeting of the Council for a period of 2 years, while the Deputy Mayor is elected for 1 year.
