Cost Shifting

Council has received communication from the Country Mayors Association NSW in relation to the report provided by Morrison Low to Local Government NSW on cost shifting for the financial year ending 30 June 2024.

Cost shifting is the terms given to the offloading of cost burdens by State and Federal Governments onto Local Governments. The report explains the implications of this process and how this then impacts on rate payers.
